About our founder

Kim Clinton

Director | CPA Accountant & Tax Agent

C & Co was born in 2020, in the thick of newborn life and the chaos of juggling work and motherhood. At the time, I was working a traditional salary and wage accounting job while raising three kids—including a newborn. I tried going back into the workforce, but with sick kids and no flexibility, it quickly became clear: it just wasn’t sustainable.

Despite being an accountant, I’d never seriously considered going out on my own—until a friend asked, “Why aren’t you working for yourself?” That one question changed everything. A lightbulb moment. I think, like many mums, I’d put myself last and just didn’t think it was possible.

So I started from my home office, working part-time with just a few clients—and a hope that I could build something sustainable on my own terms. From there, C & Co grew. What began as a solo practice has become a thriving firm with a team of seven, an office at Habitat, and a clear mission: to support small business owners with practical, no-fluff accounting and advice.

I’m especially passionate about helping women in business and tradies—two groups close to my heart. My husband runs his own electrical business, my brother owns a plumbing business, and I grew up watching my Dad run a commercial air-conditioning company. So I have a deep, lived understanding of the challenges trade-based businesses face—cashflow, quoting, staffing, tax, and everything in between.

Today, C & Co is more than just accounting—we’re here to help you understand your numbers, take control of your cash, build systems that work, and feel supported every step of the way. We’re community-driven, relationship-first, and genuinely care about your success—because we’ve walked the path too.
